Happy Zombie Jesus Day!

Easter isn’t really a big deal in our house, more of just an excuse to get together with family for some good food and company. Originally we had planned to have Mr. Awesome Sauce’s mom and uncle over as well as my mum, but due to soon poorly tummies we ended up being a party of three instead of five. Still, the food was great (gnocchi with hot and sweet Italian sausage and mushrooms in a homemade tomato cream sauce) and as always, it was wonderful to get to spend some time with my mum. After dinner we decided to catch a movie and went to see The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, which was convenient seeing as I’d made Mr. Awesome Sauce sit down and watch the first one with me just the night before! Although I didn’t think it was a good as the first one, I still thought it was a great movie. Though, admittedly I may be a little biased seeing as I love Bill Nighy, Maggie Smith, and Judi Dench <3

Oh, and I thought you all might like to see the little quilted centerpiece I whipped up on Saturday (please excuse our VERY Christmas-y snowmen salt and pepper shakers). I picked some fabrics from my stash that felt very spring-y and Easter-ish, and made them up into two star blocks using HST (half-square triangles). It came together very easily, so I think I might make some more at some point to coordinate with some of the other seasons and/or holidays. Of course, if I do that I'm going to have to switch out the flowers for fake ones as I spent most of the day shooing the kitties off the table. Needless to say, the flowers will be going to work with me tomorrow so I can actually enjoy them rather than spending all my time picking up half-eaten flowers :(

I think I have enough of the purple and teal fabric left to make a couple more stars, or one bigger one, so I might have to make a wall hanging or something to take to work. I've got lots of pictures and action figures at my desk, but no quilty goodness. I think that needs to be fixed pronto! ;)

Anyway, I hope you had a wonderful Easter and that the Easter Bunny brought you lots of goodies. Just remember – those little black pellets aren't raisins!
